Good Brown-Waite

It's nice to see Ginny on the right side of an issue for once:

Warning that she's no "sweet Southern belle,'' the Brooksville Republican laced into the Bush administration Thursday, accusing the administration of harboring a "bipartisan opposition to anything that's going to help homeowners."

The outcry came after a Treasury Department official said the White House would "strongly oppose" an effort to create a national risk pool aimed at cutting homeowners' insurance premiums. Brown-Waite, known for an independent streak, said the administration has stymied her efforts at a national risk pool.

"The administration's let them eat cake attitude does not help members on either side of the aisle,'' she said, causing a room full of dozing reporters, lobbyists and staffers to sit up and take notice.
